In other words, the poorest Americans are getting Medicare and Social Security, and that bottom 40% accounts for 9.7% of the nation's income.  After taxes and help, that comes to 20.3%.

The wealthiest one percent, by the way, accounted for 51% of the nation's income.

And yes, it's been awful being in the top 1 percent.
