So Long, Sister

Producers said Wednesday that the musical based on the 1992 film starring Whoopi Goldberg will play its final performance on Aug. 26, a 16-month run that included more than 561 performances.
"Sister Act" opened on Broadway in April 2011 after a stint in London and was nominated for a best musical Tony last year. It has original tunes by songwriter Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater.
I had no idea this was going to happen, and just today I mentioned how much I miss the music.  Sister Act was a fun movie, and I say it is one of the best Hollywood casting jobs ever.  Several careers were made, and a few were revived.  Jumping Jack Flash was a long time ago.

It's possibly time for Sister Act to leave Broadway, every good run must end.  It will still be in other places, and thanks to Netflix it's just a few clicks away.
